Karyn Furch
  • Experience
    Karyn has been sewing for over 40 years and quilting for over 20 years.
    She has been quilting with a long arm machine for over four years and has completed hundreds of quilts on our machine.
  • Training
    Karyn has completed several courses in Long Arm Machine Quilting.
    The first was taught by Nichole Webb, nationally known long arm machine quilter,
    on advanced techniques in freehand or free motion quilting.
    The second class was an advanced long arm quilting course taught at the Gammill Quilting Machine Company in West Plains, MO, makers of our long arm quilting machine.
    She has attended the International Machine Quilters Association Convention in Kansas City, MO and taken several classes.
    Karyn has taught Long Arm Machine Quilting classes at a local fabric store.
  • Awards
    In 2005, Karyn was honored by The Colorado Quilting Council. One of Karyn's quilts, "Northwoods Sampler", was exhibited in the Colorado State Capitol building along with over 300 other quilts from Colorado quilters.

    In 2007, Karyn was again honored by The Colorado Quilting Council. Three of Karyn's quilts are being exhibited in the Colorado State Capitol building along with over 300 other quilts from Colorado quilters. Two of these are quilts she quilted for clients, and one is a quilt she made herself.

    In August 2007, Karyn was again honored by having one of her quilts chosen to be displayed in the 22nd annual Quilts and Fine Woodworking Exhibition. This is a juried show sponsored by the Colorado Quilting Council and Friends of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. The show runs through Oct. 27 at the Pioneers Museum, 215 S. Tejon St. in Colorado Springs. The hours are 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays.
